Quick & Easy Bentonite Clay Mud Wash

When I first began my natural hair journey, I was the DIY and natural hair and skincare queen! Then, life happened and I found myself making fewer and fewer of my own products. Don’t get me wrong. I love trying new butters, gels, pomades and oils. But it’s so awesome to create your own products and customizing the ingredients specifically for your own hair care needs. Especially when you have fine hair. Also, giving my autoimmune diagnosis, it’s so refreshing to make products with ingredients I’ve selected myself.

Therefore, I’ve decided to return to my natural DIY beauty and haircare roots!

Last night I cleansed my fine natural hair using an easy bentonite clay mud wash! The bentonite clay detoxifies and conditions the hair (and skin) and keeps those #curls on lock!

Here’ the DIY MUD WASH recipe! I picked up just about everything o.k. Amazon. Sidenote: Y’all know I’m Amazon Prime addicted!

✨1/2 cup Aztec Bentonite Clay
✨ 1/4 cup raw Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar
✨ 1/4 cup water

Mix ingredients thoroughly. Apply to damp hair then rinse. Follow up with your favorite leave in conditioner and styling products.

OPTIONAL: repeat daily for 5 days to fully detox your strands. This detox is a great way to “reset” your hair as it removes parabeans, silicone and other product build up from the hair and scalp!

TIP FOR FINE HAIR – do not deep condition, oil rinse or pre-poo prior to application. Residue from the mix will stick to your fine strands and weigh down the hair.

Enjoy! 😉
